Why Does The Injured Knee Become Warm While On Synthetic Cartilage Injections?

I have recently injured my knee. I have worn a brace, had a steroid injection and have just begun synthetic cartilege injections. I have experienced greater pain in my leg and tonight the injured leg is warmer than the other one. I have previously had pulmonary embolisms.
