Why Does The Pregnancy Test Shows Positive After Suction Abortion Procedure ?

I had a suction abortion procedure on the 24th of December,2014.it s been 8 days now and I still feel pregnant.my breasts are still full and sore.I have abdominal cramps,still nauseaous and I sleep a lot.I took a pregnancy test today and it is positive.i bleed lightly and the colour is brownish.I am scared the abortion is not complete.Please help

Hi,
I understand your concern.

Though syringing itself can cause abdominal cramps, nausea,dizziness,sleep out of exhaustion , it usually disappears in 8-10 days.
Bleeding /cramping can be present for 10 days from termination of pregnancy.Pregnancy hormone (HCG) comes to normal in 3-4 weeks of pregnancy.so prgnency test can be weak +ve in a week of syringing/ it may be false +ve due to urine contamination.
If it is frank +ve ( dark two lines)- you should visit your treating doctor for assessing abortion status by - physical examination/ blood HCG level / USG pelvis.
In case she finds incomplete/ failed abortion- you may be subjected to medicines/ re syringing/ surgical evacuation for completing the abortion process.
