Why Does Tonsillectomy In Children Involve Less Complications Than In Adults?
hi am online student and my teacher has given us assignment. to why a tonsillectomy in a child is less likely to involve complications then one done on adult? i have look all over the internet to no sucess. the only i see is that bleeding is less. but is there more complications?
HI. Very good question. The reasons for less complications in children are as follows:: *Te tonsils in children are not adherent to the the base from which they are removed. *So- the bleeding is less * So the pain is less * so the recovery is very fast * Child may be playing the next day *They start taking orally very early * Children forget pains very faster than adults. *As tonsils are not adherent the bleeding is very less. *The retraction- a process of healing is very fast in children.
