Why Does Vaginal Itching And Tightening Occur After A C-section?
Hi..I m experiencing vaginal itching and tightening..feels dry and I just had a c section done to deliver my baby. 3 weeks ago...it at times feels like it s going away than comes back... I also notice a smell but not as bad as an yeast infection.. I m breast feeding a little but also use the bottle. It itches around the entrance of vagina and around the vulva..pretty much all down there..it s not painful but VERY much uncomfortable...it s embarrassing to even ask nurse about it. Why would I be experiencing this and when will it go away?
Though you are not experiencing a discharge , it is likely that you do have a yeast infection. This is the most common cause of the itching that you described.
It would not be an abnormal occurrence from the nurse's perspective since these infections are common. You should consider speaking to the nurse or doctor so that you can be assessed and treated.
Treatment would generally consist of a topical medication to apply to the area for a few days. Fluconazole, which is a oral medication, can also be used as well.
I hope this helps
