Why Ejaculating Less Semen After Intercourse?

My boyfriend has been working away for the past 5 weeks and we have only seen each other twice in this time (he has also not been masturabting), on two occasions that we have had sex his semen has been very think, clear and jelly like. The first time it happened there was about a spoonfull sized amount and the second time this happened there was only about 1cm-2cm worth. He hasn't ever noticed this in the past and has taken no medical advice yet. Is this a normal change?
