Hi,

The possible causes of your problem are:
- After changing the intrauterine contraceptive device, it will take some time to achieve the reproductive hormonal balance, meanwhile there is a possibility for irregularity in menstrual cycles.

Which can present in the form of heavy menstrual periods. Usually within the first few months the cycles can get regularized. Backache can be seen as the side effect of IUCD, if there is any associated pelvic infection severity of the symptoms may increase. Is the symptoms persist, better to consult your gynecologist once, get examined and undergo an ultrasound to confirm the position of the IUCD. Then if needed you can go for anti-fibrinolytic drugs to control the bleeding. In case of infection you may need antibiotics for a few days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
