My 15 year old son has not started puberty yet and is very thin and does not gain weight . He has been at the same weight for three years, although he has grown 2 inches in two years. He is 92 pounds and 5 foot 4. He plays soccer on the club level and is having great disadvantages now that he is so much shorter and lighter than the other boys his age, who all in a group of 18 kids grown 6-7 inches, most are 5 foot 8 and 140 pounds, but not my son. Up to 12 years old he was at the 75th percentile for height and based on growth charts I saw on line he is now down to the 30th. Why is he dropping in the height chart and not gaining weight? I am concerned about him. At this point would he need hormone therapy to grow? I have a 12 year old who started puberty last year and is almost passing him by in height and already passed him by in weight
