Hi,

According to your description the possible causes for your , intermenstrual spotting are and cramps are:
- Mittelschmerz pain and bloating, which occur around the period of ovulation due to follicular swelling, ovarian wall rupture etc. And fluctuation in hormones can lead to spotting.
Usually this will subside soon without the need of medication. If persists simple analgesics can help in mild cases.
- If there is any possibility of pregnancy, implantation bleeding can also be considered.
- If there is usage of hormonal contraceptives side effects of the pills can be considered.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
