Why Is ECG And Echo Test Recommended For Sharp Chest Pain With History Of Having Pneumonia?
My mum is just 40kgs and 65yrs old........ she was under treatment for pneumonia since last two weeks....but today early morning she had sharp chest pain in the centre and back of chest.....doctor says there is slight variation in the ecg and she has to undergo an echo test....why is this done
Dear sir/madam, if they have found variation in ECG then its better to get echo cardiogram done. In this they will see whether all segments of heart ( especially left ventricle ) are contracting well. If some segments are not contracting well ( regional wall motion abnormalities ) then you are suffering from ischaemic heart disease. So it better to get echo cardiogram done and clear the doubt of the ECG variation.
