Why Is Eltroxin Prescribed Instead Of Thyronorm For Thyroid Disorder?

Hi, I am MALE and I was diagnosed with thyroid 9 months ago. since then I am taking Thyroid Tablet started with 50 Mcg Thyronorm then Eltroxin 75 mcg and Presently 100 Mcg. Over the period of time the dosage was increased. Please advice what to do. Also please explain the difference between Thyronorm (Abott) & Eltroxin (gsc)

Hi,

There is no difference between thyronorm and eltroxcin as both contain thyroxine.Regarding increase in dose this is done based on your TSH value measured every 6-8 weeks and during the initial phase it will need some titration to achieve an exact dose for you. Follow your doctor's advice regarding diet etc . Wish you a better health.
