Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have hypothyroidism and PCOS. and I recently had a T3, TSH, and Reverse T3 bloodwork done. The rT3 was high, but my current Endo advised me that this had nothing to do with my hypo symptoms even though all the T3, T4 and TSH were normal. She said it was my PCOS, but I am not convinced. She started me on Glumetza for weightloss but, I am having a hard time with it because it gives me sever abdominal pain. What is wrong with me?
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. Noted the history of your thyroid tests and discussion with Endocrinologist. Glumetza is once a day , since it cause gastric upset, pain and all you can try the alternative which can be taken twice a day, If it too causes the pain in the abdomen, request your Doctor to change over to another suitable medicine. This will solve your problem .
