Why Is Limbrel Prescribed Before A Carpal Tunnel Release Surgery?

Hi Doctor, I am having 3 procedures done in a week. they are carpal tunnel release, right ulnar nerve decompression and right basilar thumb resection joint arthroplasty. My question is starting tomorrow my Doctor wants me to take 2 capsules of Limbrel for a week. What is this for and why?

It is not routinely used in such purposes but in people who have joint swelling due to osteoarhritis or other bone changes, it is used to reduce swelling and it helps suurgeon to visualize carpal canal better during the procedure.
