Why Is Loprin And Progesterone Hormones Prescribed During Pregnancy?

.I am 8 weeks pregnant. Age 20. I had what they call a failed implantation 3 months ago. Now my doc has prescribed me loprin and progesterone harmone. Is it because of my earlier misscarrige because I have heard that no medicine except folic acid should be taken in the first 3 months of pregnancy

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Though what you have heard is true in normal, uncomplicated pregnancies, the drugs given to you are essential in your case to avoid abortion & protect your pregnancy.
Progesteron is a hormone which is responsible for maintanance of pregnancy.
Due to previous abortion, mothers blood develops certain antibodies which make her blood thick. Loprin is a aspirin which makes maternal blood thinner ,so as to allow it to circulate freely to fetus. Thus it helps prevention of repeat abortion.
* thus both the drugs are needful for you. Please take them regularly as per doctor's advice.
