Why Is Prozac Prescribed While Treating Behavioral Issues?

My adult handicapped son takes two prescription each day. One is for aggression and the other is what I believe is a generic foe Prozac. I am not sure of the spelling but these meds sound like Folaxatin ? and Wh. Could you help me with the spelling and purpose for these drugs? He lives in a Care Home and I am his S.S. rep and payee. I need this info for a S.S. review. Thank you Kathi Sloan-Serr

Hi. Sorry to hear about problem of your son. So far as your question is concerned, the drug you are talking about is most probably flouxetine, which belongs to antidepressant group of medicines. Antidepressants may also be helpful in certain type of psychiatric condition also. Hoping this info might help you.
