I am Sakthi(27Yrs height-164cms weight-70Kg) who is in the 18th week of Pregnancy.I have been prescribed Folic acid tablets and Susten 200 from my 1st checkup.I am asked to continue using Susten 200 by my doctor in the last checkup also(checkup is on up was my 17th week). But when i showed my reports to another doctor, she asked me to stop using Susten as I dont have any miscarriage history or any medical problems.
1.For what Susten 200 is suggested and does it have any impact if used after 1st trimester
2. From which month Calcium tablets are prescribed?
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion usually progesterone hormone is essential for the maintenance of pregnancy. When there is progesterone insufficiency it causes miscarriage or spotting or bleeding in pregnancy.Susten consists of progesterone hormone. And it is usually prescribed in case of history with miscarriage or bleeding problems in pregnancy. As you dont have any of those problems it might not be necessary. So discuss regarding this with your doctor if there is any other reason for which she prescribed this.Calcium is usually started after first trimester ie.,13 weeks onwards. Best regards...Dr srilatha
