Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
I am not able to understand why your doctor asked you to abort the baby.
Because of the dangers of possible rabies, pregnancy is not a contraindication to postexposure rabies prophylaxis. Available evidence so far has not shown increased risk of abortion, preterm birth or fetal anomolies associated with rabies vaccine. So do not worry.
In summary rabies vaccine is not contraindicated in pregnancy. If it is necessary it should be prescribed. I suggest you discuss with your doctor as to why he advised abortion. If you wish you can have follow up with another doctor. I hope this is helpful. If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
