welcome to Health care magic.
1.Its carried out for both diagnosing the pathology and treating at the same time in many cases.
2.With the help of contrast there will be a caterer sent to the vessels through the femoral route ( most commonly used).
3.Look for any block if there is one it can be located and removed the thrombus / block.
4.If any narrowing is seen as a atherosclerotic changes - dilatation or placing of an stent can be done at the same session.
5.The out come will be good and its treatment of choice - some risks are there as any other procedures - speck to the concern person dealing with your case and proceed.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
