Why Is Injection Recommended Before Travelling In Case Of Uterine Fibroids?

Hi, I am 32 years old. 63kgs, 165cm tall. I am healthy except for I have a large fibroid on my uterus and am due for a hysterectomy soon. I have flights to USA booked for mid June and my specialist mentioned I will need an injection before each longhaul flight. Why is this?
