Hello, There is nothing to get alarmed because this is a natural happening in the course of diabetes progression. As the time progresses, the mass of residual beta cells keeps shrinking resulting in less production of insulin and hence one needs more quantity of anti diabetic medications.Gradually a stage is reached, where no oral medicines work and only injectable insulin is the treatment. Talk to your doctor and get the dose of medicines increased or get an additional medicine. There is nothing to worry as there are plenty of oral medicines available which can keep your blood sugar levels normal. Observe all dietary precautions and do regular aerobic exercises for at least 45 minutes a day. Thanks
