During pregnancy the weight increases about a Kg per month. However, you seem to have alarming increase in weight. It could be because of: 1. Increase in blood pressure- we call it as Pregnancy Induced hypertension. 2. Inj. Proluton depot which is a progesterone preparation and is known to retain water in the body. 3. Multiple baby's in the uterus. 4. Overeating. Whatever may be the cause, you do not presume yourself. Consult your obstetrician immediately, tell him about your weight increase and get properly evaluated. Sudden increase in weight is an alarming signal during pregnancy. I would advice you to reduce the salt intake as an immediate measure and evaluate your diet pattern. If you happen to have Pregnancy induced hypertension or Multiple baby's, you will have to be under the close watch of obstetrician and follow his/her advice meticulously.
