Why Is Potassium Supplements Preferred In Liquid Form?

hi, im doing research and i was hoping you could please tell me in simple terms why potassium supplements are preferred in liquid form and not modified release form for stoma patients. i no with modified release medicines the active ingredient is not absorbed properly but is this simply because the gastric intestinal tract not working properly. i just want to be able to answer question in depth.
