Why Is The Cough Not Stopping?

Hello doctor.. I got continues Dry n wet cough n throat infection with chest pain... 1st doctor suggested me Romine cough syrap n klacid 500.. that time i got little relief and throat infection gone...After 14 days again Continues dry cough came.. again i went to doctor.. He given me Curam 1gm.. am taking this for past 4 days...Still i have dry cough intermittently... almost 3 weeks got over.. am not smoking.. not driking.. not even travelled last 2 mnths to anywhr... I have dust n cold allergy.. but no asthma... am nt taking any cold foods n always stays away from dusts.. X ray and ECG took.. it was normal... then why cough is not stopping doctor..????

Hi,

Noted your history about continuous coughing in spite of treatment in the form of Romine cough syrup, Klacid 500 gave some relief but started again, known allergy to dust and cold.
The cause is obviously due to some irritation in the office or at home and can be from anything that is many a times difficult to find out.
Keen observation is the key to find and eliminate the cause.
For example the dead mites that can not be seen with eyes, molds mildews and so on.
You need to find the cause and avoid.
Take antihistamine.
May need oral short course of steroid in tapering doses.
Also take supplements to increase body resistance and immunity.
Consult a Pulmonologist if needed.
