Why Is The Cyst On My Labia Bleeding?

I have a "cyst" on my labia which came right after I had my first child 21 years ago. At the time, the doctor said it was common and shouldn't pose any problem. Now, after all these years, it is sore, especially when I wipe myself and today it has started to bleed. This is the first time it has ever "acted up" since my son was born. Should I get it checked?
