Why Is The Donation Of Blood Not Accepted While Having Low BP?

Hello, i was asked to go and donate blood for one of my cousins, i was also told the seriousness about heart rate and blood pressure. When i got checked i was told 3 numbers: 53 and 103/58 which i believe is both my heart rate and blood pressure. After they checked it i got sent home with no explanation. Is this normal?

hello,
welcome to HCM,
thanx a lot for your query,
yes, they are indeed your heart rate and blood pressure readings.
your values are on the lower side.
there are many rules and specifications for a blood transfusion to be done.
normal vital parameters are a very important thing for a transfusion to take place.
if they are on the lower side, there are chances of subjecting the donor to potential harmful effects.
hence your blood was not transfused.
its a very normal protocol that is being followed everywhere.
dont be worried about it.
do monitor your health.
do take medications regularly..
things will go fine

your readings are on the lower side, which is not acceptable for blood transfusion...
if in case you transfuse, you will run the risk of going in for cardiovascular collapse and your health will deteriorate...
hence kindly dont donate as this juncture..
be happy...
do take treatment for your condition...
wish you good health ahead...
