Why Is The Sunburnt Spot On My Leg Having Red Knots?

my boyfriends legs were sunburnt after a 4 hour kayaking trip. Now the legs have heeled except for a spot about 4 inches long and 2 inces wide on his lower leg just above the ankle, on both legs. It is still red and has a knot underneath it. He s 34 and in good health, other than the strange knots now on his legs. Any ideas?

hi..thanks for sharing your problem here in this forum...
when you got the sunburn different area receive different degree of burn...
this red area as you mentioned received deeper than other area...so its healing is late as well as with greater scar...the knot may be the thrombosed vein under that area...wash the area ,,apply antibiotic + steroid cream..use ant allergic if there is itching and painkiller if pain is there..hope it will be fine soon..thanks
