Why My Daughter Is Sniffing Rapidly From Her Nose?
Hello Doctor, My daughter had a choking case last Monday. for the past 4 days she had weared pattern of breathing from the nose. I took her to the emergency yesterday. She had a nick x ray and the ENT doctor did screening of her nose and throat and nothing is wrong according to them. They have not seen anything. They discharge my daughter saying she is ok and may be she is afraid and that such symptoms may go. My daughter is still sniffing rapidly from her nose in strange pattern and is very annoyed. what do you think she has? and what shall I do.. thanks
Hi. Thanks for your query. Young girls can have such symptoms out of fear, anxiety, stress or so. Since the ENT Examination is normal, you will have to go to the depth of the problem. This may be a small problem behind. Another possibility of such weird sniffing can be vasomotor rhinitis. An addition of a mild antidepressant can get her problem solved. Do not send her to school or go for a outing of a few days she may become alright very soon.
