Why My Lower Lip Is Swollen Twice Normal Size?

My lower lip is swollen twice normal size. It occurred over night. It hurts so bad went to the doctors he said I possibly had a staph infection and he gave me a z pack antibiotics and some lip antibiotic ointment but nothing for pain and I don't see anything getting better yet it's only been a day any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Seems to me it is due to bacterial infection with surrounding cellulitis (Furuncle).

Since its been just a day into treatment, therefore I would suggest that you continue with the oral antibiotics for another 5 days or so, as well as topical antibacterial. It should start to get better in another 2-3 days and should resolve completely within a week.

An OTC painkiller e,g ibuprofen, twice or thrice weekly would help you symptomatically with the pain
