Why My Mother Is Having Body Aches, chills And A High Fever?

Hi....My mum is a stage 4 colorectal cancer patient with cancer that has spread to her liver. Chemotherapy is no longer effective. She took an injection for osteoporosis yesterday. She has really bad body aches, chills and a high fever the whole of today. Is this the side effects of the injection? How long will these symptoms last? despite taking paracetamol, her fever is slow to subside. Should I be concerned?

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.....The Injection for osteoporosis usually Zoledronic acid can cause the symptoms you have suggested... Usually Paracetamol tablets are enough to settle the symptoms....They will subside in a couple of days with the drug...If it persists beyond 3-4 days review with your doctor
