General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Intercourse on 4th day of cycle comes in safe zone so no chance of conception was there. The I-pill you took is an emergency contraceptive and the high dose hormones within postpones the ovulation and also the menstrual cycle by about 8-10 days.
Chance of conception with unprotected sex on postponed ovulation can cause conception too. It can be checked by home pregnancy test after 15 days of expected date of menstruation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
