General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.

All antacids including Mylanta (magnesium hydroxide/aluminium hydroxide) may affect the absorption of Ranitidine by binding the drug (reducing its absorption) or by increasing the stomach pH so that the drug’s dissolution or solubility is altered. hence should be taken at different times.

Similarly taking Sucralfate together with antacid can decrease the effects of sucralfate. Sucralfate and antacid therefore should be separated by at least half an hour.

Hope this answers your query.
