Why There Is Fluid In Ears While The BG Levels Are High?

I have type 1 diabetes. When my bg levels get high(over 250mg/dl), I feel like I have fluid in my ears that feels like I am under water. It goes away as soon as my bg level goes down. I have never have this happen expect when the bg levels are high. What causes this?
