Why There Is No Period After Implanon Insertion? Pregnancy Test Negative And Experiencing Constipation And Mood Swings

Good Afternoon,
I had Implanon inserted on November the 5th, i have still not had a period as yet, and have done 3 pregnancy test as im now 13 days late. All are negative.

I'm the past week i have been experiencing constipation and mood swings.
Today i finally passed a large stool that had fresh blood in it.
its not external rectal bleeding, there was no blood on the paper, just in the stool around the toilet.
can this bleeding be from the implanon?

Kind Regards

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this absent menses ad the blood you observed in your stool today.

It is not strange for menses not to be exactly regular soon after inserting implanon. The most common cause here is not pregnancy but simply due t the system trying to establish a new rhythm given the imposed hormonal changes. It should be fine within 3 months after insertion. Should it persist, please talk to your doctor.

For the blood you observed this morning, I think the hard stool probably caused some bleeding as it forced its way out of through the anus. For this, I will suggest that you try to eat more fruits, vegetables, fibers and increase your water intake. Also, try not to postpone the urge of going to stool each time you happen to have one. This blood is not fro the implanon.

I hope you find the above information helpful.I wish you we. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to ask for more clarifications and information if need be.
Thanks.
