Why There Is Pregnancy Symptoms Even Though I Had Protected Sex?

I had gotten my period around the 22nd of December 2013. I assume that I am now ovulating because my period isn't due for another two weeks (roughly). I am experiencing some breast tenderness, sharp pains in my right side where my ovary would be and some sharp pains in my groin area. I took a at home pregnancy test. It was negative. I usually never experience these symptoms and I have protected Sex. What is wrong?

Dear member     ,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The symptoms you are experiencing now is because of ovulation.
When the ovary releases the egg it can cause Sharp pain on one side.
It can be associated with some spotting too.
It will resolve in a day or two.
If your home pregnancy test is negative then you are not pregnant.
Thanks
