Why There Is Spotting While Taking Birth Control Shots?

Hi doctor, i just have a question about my period. I am currently taking a birth control monthly shot but this time, my period was late a week and I spotted twice this month. I wasn't exactly sure if I put the birth control on the right day this month though because it was just a lot of spotting, bleeding and then spotting again. What might this be?

Hi,

Spotting is common with birth control pills. It is due to hormonal action and it will settle by itself.

As of now, no treatment is required and it will come back to normal in one or two months.

As of now, drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
