Hello,

You are suffering from wheezing cough. Get clinically examined to find the cause of your wheezing cough. Wheeze usually means that the airways are narrowed or inflamed. The treatment depends on the cause like asthma, allergy, infection, COPD, etc. Get evaluated by a local GP, get chest X-ray and other required tests done to find the pathology that is causing you wheezing cough.

Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis done. Methylprednisolone is a corticosteroid, you were prescribed it to reduce inflammation in your airways, which is what causes wheezing and coughing. Steroids are usually given in a tapering dose, so you were prescribed accordingly, first 3 days you were prescribed higher dose (2× daily) to quickly control airway inflammation.

And for the next 4 days, you were prescribed once daily, to slowly taper off. Tapering prevents sudden withdrawal. Your irregular dosing for one day likely won’t harm you, but consistency is important for steroids to work properly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
