Why Would A Report Say Suspicious Densities Are Seen In Both Apices While Thoracic Spine Is Mildly Scoliotic?

This is the impression i got after having my xray today. What soes thiese imply. I have no colds nor cough. Am 60 of age/female and with maintenance for diabetes & uric acid. But they are not severe. Judt wondering why i had these results: Suspicious densities are seen in both apices. Heart is not enlarged. The aorta is atherosclerotic. Both costophrenic sulci and hemidiaphragms are intact. The thoracic spine is mildly scoliotic. Please advice.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Suspicious densities in both lung apices can be due to lung consolidation. I suggest you to consult a pulmonologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
