Why Would Her Heart Stop During Surgery Like That ?

My girl friend had to go in for ovarian cancer surgery and during the surgery her heart stopped. She is ok now but I was wondering why would her heart stop during surgery like that ?

Anasthesia can cause such kind of abnormility on cardio vascular system. But she should be all right now since the effect has long surpassed.
