Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

These symptoms are due to hyperglycemia. Persistent hyperglycemia(high blood sugar) damages the heart and the autonomic nervous systems. This causes palpitations in your mother.
I would advice my patient to control the blood sugar with diet, walking and medication. It is advisable to do an ECG and consult a cardiologist for your mother's problem.
