Wife Is Pregnant. When Tested For Toxoplasma IGG, It Is Varying From Positive To Negative. Will This Affect The Pregnancy?


my wife is pregnent for 13 weeks ,our Gynec doctor asked to test Toxoplasma IGG ,when we have tested first time it was in value 119 it is positive ,then doctor asked to test toxoplasma IGM it was negative ,so one month later again tested IGG THEN IT SHOWED 132 it was positive A slight increase ,so again tested IGM it was negative ,

so doctor told u not to worry about it and it will not affect the pregnancy
because igg is past infection

please tell me if it affect pregnancy becuuse I am confused

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Toxoplasma infection, Ig G shows infection in the past. these are antibodies against toxoplasma, and it will prevent baby from infection. so your baby is on safer side.
As her Ig M is negative, means it is not a recent infection. only recent infection has chances of affecting to baby.
Your doctor has adviced not to worry, your wife is already immune to this infection.
