Will Clarithromycin 500 Mg Work For UTI?

My mother in law is out of state on vacation, she has a UTI (gets them often, knows the symptoms well) she has an antibiotic with her, Clarithromycin 500mg, has 56 tablets. Would this work for a UTI, and if so how often would she need to take it and for how many days? Thanks!

hi.. clarythromycin is used in treatment of many infections.
UTI occurs mostly due to enterobacteria
clarythromycin is not effective drug for UTI as other UTI antibiotic drug.
so stop taking it and consult your GP for other drugs like fluoroquinolones , amoxicillin , augmentin ...etc.
