Hello,

HCG numbers are not absolute indicators of either a viable fetus or miscarriage. HCG baselines may vary for different pregnancy. Someone may have a low HCG level but still be pregnant. As pregnancy advances, HCG level should also increase. Slow increase in HCG does not mean you are miscarrying but viability of the fetus should be checked as a routine (monthly weight gain, USG for fetal well being, FHS check, etc). Symptoms of miscarriage are also cramping & bleeding. Conducting fetal heart scanning, blood tests for HCG & progesterone & pelvic examination help to confirm miscarriage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
