Will Meniere's Disease Cause Mental Illness And Personality Changes?

I have a very dear life long friend who is suffering from Meniere's, can this disease cause mental illness. When I try to support her and understand what going on. Asked how she is doing she gets angry with me. She tells me to leave her alone, not to email or call her. She says she will call me when she feels like it. I honored her wishes, but did ask if her husband could maybe email me once in a while to let me know how she is doing. I herd nothing for 6 mo.. This holiday season I broke down and called her anyway. She went ranting on and on what a terrible friend I am. She went on and on about what a terrible person I am, and as a friend doesn't want to invest anymore time in our friendship. We have been best friends, more like sisters for nearly 58 years. Can this disease cause this kind of change in personality change. She was always the kindest and most wonderful friend in the world. She hates me and I don't understand what's going on with her or what to do.
