Will Progesterone Induced Menstruation Regularize The Periods?

Hi, I hadn't had a natural period since this past January. I took BCP in June and had a period. Then nothing. So my doctor prescribed a progesterone to induce menstruation. I just got my period today. What does this mean? What can I expect in the future?
