Will A Hand Skin Peeling, Redness With A Finger Hole Heal Itself?

Hi, so I was pulling a metal cable to operate a gate, but accidently grabbed the part of the cable not covered in plastic. my hand slid down the cable, and pulled the skin up. it looked like one or two layers were removed, and now there is just a hole in my finger. it is pretty red, but did not bleed at all. will the skin repair itself?
