Will A Hard Swelling On The Chin, Caused Post Injury, Subside Without Medication?

Hi So I had a running fall accident and hit my chin on concrete! I got a cut and it is very swollen and brused size of a small apple. Now there is a crust which I am not touching! But swelling not going away and has been couple weeks. Unfortunately I did not go to a doctor and think might be too late now to go. Will the hard swelling go away??? I do not mind the small scar as it is under the chin

Hi,

From your explanation, it looks like there is Hematoma formation that occurs due to rupture of small blood vessels due to injury and accumulation of blood in the soft tissue.

At times the Hematoma gets encapsulated leading to a. Hard and firm mass that takes times to get better. For now, you can do alternate warm and cool compresses over it.

Apply Heparin based gels for relief. Consult a Physician once and get checked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
