Will An Indentation On The Cupid S Bow From A Fall Require Surgery?

Hi I had a fall a week ago and cut through the vermilion border of my top lip. There is now an indentation of about 1mm and a bump on my cupid s bow. I didn t have any stitches but am thinking now that I should have. Please could you tell me if these will improve or will I need surgery in the future. Thank you. Helen

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to injury there has been traumatic injury to soft tissues leading to tear of mucous and a cut is apparent..
The bump seems to be due to inflammation and Hematoma formation due to traumatic injury to a small blood vessel leading to spillage of blood into soft tissues..
As the cut is just 1mm Iin size, it needs not to be stitched and will resolve gradually..
You should apply a combination of antibiotic and steroid ointment over it..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Do cool compresses over it..l
Avoid touching or scratching it as it can lead to infection and I increased inflammation..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
