Will Antibiotic Ointment, Drops And Hot Fomentation Help Heal Stye Under Left Eye?

My daughter has a stye under her left eye.. Its been months its there and not going away. she often closes her eye while pointing towards distant objects.
Optha suggested to give her antibiotic ointment , drops and orally with hot fomentation for 5 days.. Will it help? coz i dont see any such changes in 2 days treatment so far.

Dear patient,

Thanks for the query. The important issue would be to diffrentiate between a recurrent stye or a chronic one, since many times the stye does not resolve on its own and may require drainage. Use all the therapies indicated by the Eye doctor, and monitor symptoms; significant resolution should be noticed within 1 week.
