Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Excess use of minoxidil 7 years ago does not seem to be the cause for your hair fall thats occuring presently. Hair loss in a young male can be attributed to hereditary or hormonal factors( male pattern baldness/androgenetic alopecia), stress, chronic illness, nutritional deficiency, thyroid disorder, anemia etc( telogen effluvium) or localised causes like seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, use of hair color, salon procedures etc.
The definite cause in your case can only be ruled out by a proper hair analysis and clinical history.
I would advise that you meet a dermatologist nearby.
Take care
