Will Benadryl And Sinus Medication Help The Popping And Crackling Sensation Due To Viral Cold In Ears?

My ears are popping and cracking and there is a hollowness (?for want of a better description!) in my head. I have had a viral cold issue that I am getting over thanks to my dr who told me to take simple musinex. Do I need to continue with it to get rid of these symptoms or is there a better option - Benadryl, or sinus meds?

I have gone through your query regarding effect of benadryl in the treatment of popping ear.

As you said that you are having viral cold with popping of ear and you are taking benadryl. Here I would like to say that your this problem is because of eustachian tube dysfunction. So you will get relief by benadryl but for getting better results you should add these in your treatment-

1- Steam inhalation.

2- Anti histaminic and decongestant.

3- Steroidal nasal spray.

4- Antibiotic.
