Hello, I appreciate your concern and gestational diabetes is very common nowadays in pregnancy and you seem to be suffering of this. If I were your treating doctor, I would advise you to cut down sugar containing diet and take high protein diet, which is also beneficial for your baby. Maternal diabetes can affect baby and baby will be more prone to have diabetes, so you should be cautious to control your sugar level. For that, you need to take insulin injections and dose has to be adjusted as per your sugar level after regular check up of blood sugar level. No other oral drugs are as safe as insulin in diabetes. Don't worry, it will be in control soon and in most of the cases gestational diabetes will go away after delivery. only in some cases it persists, so you will have to take enough precautions after delivery also. This will certainly help you and feel free to ask any of your queries directly to me.
